OneNessa is a singer, songwriter based in Montreal City, born in Batna, Algeria.

At an early age, she was introduced to HIP HOP culture, influenced by her older brothers who made her discover renowned legends of French Rap such as IAM and Fonky Family. In the year 2000, she moved with her family to Montreal, a French speaking city in North America. Very quickly, she saw windows of opportunities in her city of heart and her musical influences widening.

At 8, she already had her own stage: her balcony on Papineau Street where she would perform for strangers. At 10, she would go home right after school so she could play her favorite records, sing along and create choreographies.

As she matured, she fell in love with Lauryn Hill’s poetry and fierceness, Aaliyah’s sensitivity and sex appeal, Nas’ raw storytelling and many more. At 14, she started performing at Talent Shows in school and joined a Blues Band with adults.

At 16, she went on a 5 city tour with 2HardCore, a French Rap Group, a tour that consolidated her love for music.

Singing has always been a part of her life, but it wasn’t until later on that she realized she also had a passion for words. She first started writing to no beat, blocks of words that very much resembled raps, to which she would give melodies.
In 2012, she had her first studio loving when she recorded Sold Out’’.

At 17, keeping her passion close to her heart, she entered Concordia University. Four Years later, she graduated from a Bachelor Degree in Arts and Science, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Creative Writing. This allowed her to expand her world view, read literature from across the globe and write poetry, plays as well as short stories.

In 2015, she released her first body of work ‘’ The Archer’’, that she created and wrote for mostly in her room, and recorded with Sonny Black. After the release, she performed her own creations for the time, in front of small crowds, then bigger room.

In 2017, her second project ‘’Coming Through’’ saw light of day.
